Acre, an urban farm, bar and restaurant to crown Burwood Brickworks
Developers are going green. Fraser Property Australia is in the process of transforming Burwood's old brickworks into an environmentally focussed community. Due for completion late 2019, it will feature 700 homes, parkland and the world's most sustainable retail outlet whose roof will become a 2000-square-metre urban farm and dining precinct.
This Is What Melbourne's Huge Soon-to-Open Urban Rooftop Farm Will Look Like
acre farm & eatery Brickworks is a collaborative project led by Frasers Property Australia and the farm-to-table group, acre. Situated on the former Burwood Brickworks site, we’re creating one of the largest rooftop urban agricultural projects in Australia boasting our farmhouse eatery surrounded by sprawling gardens and our glasshouse café set within the large high-intensity greenhouse.
A bright new rooftop farm and eatery is headed to Melbourne’s east
A 2,000-square-metre rooftop farm and eatery is coming to the new Burwood Brickworks development in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
The urban farm concept will be run by Acre Eatery,
a farm-to-table restaurant that first opened in
Sydney’s inner west in 2016. Like its Sydney outpost,
Acre Brickworks will focus on sustainability within
the food industry.
